How AcademicPilot handles accounts, data, AI usage, and source verification.

Do I need my own AI API key?

No. AcademicPilot uses the service account on the server and charges actions against your AcademicPilot credit balance.

Where are my CVs and saved application records stored?

CV versions, saved advisors, admissions checks, and outreach drafts are stored locally in the browser you use. Clearing browser storage or moving to another device can remove access to those local records.

What is stored on the backend?

The backend stores your account identity, credit balance, AI usage records, and operational audit information. It does not act as cloud storage for your complete CV workspace.

Can AcademicPilot guarantee an admissions requirement or advisor match?

No. Web pages and program rules change. AcademicPilot provides a research starting point and source links; you should verify important details on official university and faculty pages.

Can I sign in with Google and email?

Yes. When both methods use the same verified email, the authentication provider can associate them with the same account.

What happens when my free credits are used?

Saved local work remains available, but new AI actions require credits. Online credit purchases will be introduced after the private launch.
